JapanXReader: A Day at the Pool

“Come on Kiku!!” You persisted.
“No,” Your japanese friend repeated.
You sighed. You floated on your back with a pool noodle in you hands wearing a (color/style) bathing suit. Kiku sat up on the patio under an umbrella refusing to look at you because he claimed it was ‘indecent’.
It was only you and Kiku at the moment but your friends Ludwig and Feli said they would be over in an hour or so once Luddy got off work.
“Its a bathing suit, Kiku, lighten up,” You complained.
He just shook his head and stared at a manga in his hands. You dunked your head under the water and resurfaced.
“You’re going to have a heat stroke,” You added. He was fully clothed in him normal long sleeved white uniform.
He shook his head again, “I have this umbrella,” he comprised.
You adjusted yourself on to the pool noodle. You were determined to get Kiku into the pool.
“You can float around on a spring float,” You offered. He also refused to put on his swim trunks. They were laid over a chair next to him.
He looked up slightly, “Why?”
“Because!! I want you to come into the water! Its cool and refreshing,” you taunted.
He almost looked like he was going to take you up on your offer when he flicked his eyes back to his book, “No, it’s indecent.”
“Its not indecent!” You cried hopelessly. You should drag him out to a public pool at some point. Actually- maybe not; that might mentally scar him.
You leaned back in the water trying to find something else to say. You were pretty much out of ideas. Maybe when Feli and Ludwig get here they can convince him to get in. But that wasn’t going to be for an hour or two.
Wait! “Hey how about you just put your feet in?”
He looked up, “Hm, maybe. That sounds like a good idea.”
Setting his book down he grabbed his umbrella and walked over to the side of the pool. Taking his shoes off he dipped his feet in the pool.
“Doesn’t the water feel good,” You mused.
Kiku twirled a hand in the water and nodded.
You considered pulling him in but decided that would just ruin everything, and his clothes.
“Why don’t you lighten up and put on your suit and get in!” You said, “You can even wear a shirt if you want to,” You added.
Kiku glanced at his trunks doubtfully. You held back a smile knowing that you were close to winning.
“Don’t forget sunblock.”

“You forgot sunblock,” You scolded an hour later.
“Ow- h-hai,” Kiku whined. You sighed as you grabbed some aloe vera. He wore a tank top with his trunks and his shoulders were tomato red.
You both just floated around and talked about anime and manga until you decided to get out for a break before the others got here.
“Okay hold still,” You said covering your hands with aloe.
He flipped around, “N-no, I’ll do it!” He exclaimed.
You knew he just didn’t want you touching him because of his ‘no touchy’ rule, but you looked at him sternly.
“No,” You said pointing for him to lay down on the towel, “You can’t reach your back anyway.”
“B-but-”
“No. Sit,” You pointed back to the towel.
“You sound like Yao,” He pouted. Yao was his older brother, and was practically his only parent figure. You smirked.
“Good,” You put a little more aloe on your hands and gently rubbed the burn. You felt Kiku slowly relax.
“Better?” You asked wiping off your hand.
“Hai,” he said his face still in the towel.
You smiled and held back a laugh. He was just so cute sometimes.
“I guess we will just sit here until Luddy and Feli get here,” You said, “I wonder where they are anyway.
“I’ll call them,” Kiku said getting up quickly and running inside the house to get a phone.
“Geez,” You whispered as you watched him sprint away. I see how it is.
You sat there for a second reading the back of the aloe bottle before he came back out holding his cell phone.
“They are on their way,” Kiku stated as he walked back and sat next to you on the towel. You were in the shade waiting.
And waiting.
An awkward 10 minutes passed in silence.
“So,” You started, “Hows it going.”
“Good, my shoulders feel better _____-san. Arigato,” He replied and you smiled. You really liked it when he said things in japanese.
“You’re welcome,” You shifted in your place and glanced at Kiku. His wet black hair was matted down to his head. You wanted to reach over and ruffle it but held your hand back. You found yourself staring at him.
He turned, “Uh- _____-san? Do you need something?”
You just stared at his brown eyes for a second, “Huh? I mean,” You looked forward blushing, “No. Sorry.”
Kiku tipped his head to the side confused. You flicked your (e/c) eyes toward him and looked forward again.
Kiku looked around awkwardly, you just hoped he wouldn’t look at your cheeks.
You glanced backward and grabbed his manga, “Oh!” you said looking at the cover, “You’re reading (favorite manga)?”
“Hai,” he shifted, “For the fifth time.”
You looked over at him, he was looking down and blushing. “I love this one!” You said.
You talked about the manga for a few minutes afterward, leaning forward and looking at the pages. You didn’t realize your heads were pressed together.
You looked over at Kiku as he did the same and you were both face to face, so close your noses were almost touching.
You expected Kiku to pull away quickly but he didn’t.
“Kiku,” You whispered as you looked at each other’s eyes. He looked kind of surprised and confused at the same time.
Slowly he leaned in and gave you a kiss on the cheek.
You felt your heart beat faster and you sat there open mouthed, not speaking.
Suddenly Kiku pulled back, “I-I’m sorry,” he said quickly.
You blinked, “N-no its okay,” you said quickly.
He looked up at you, his face turning red as his shoulders, “_____-san,” He paused, “Daisuki,” he whispered.
You moved closer to him, “Daisuki,” you whispered back in his native language.
Kiku leaned forward a little then leaned back. Rolling your eyes you leaned in and kissed him on the lips.
You both just sat there for a second when-
“Ve~ ______! Kiku!”
You sprang away from Kiku as quickly as you could. You both were red as tomatoes. Blinking you looked towards the door.
Feliciano was standing in the door in his swimming trunks holding a towel while Ludwig walked after him.
Feli looked at you two, “What’s wrong?” Judging from his voice you must have looked really surprised.
“O-oh, I- nothing,” You stuttered.
“Okay then bella! Lets get in the pool!” He grabbed you by the hand and yanked you to your feet.
You cast a smile back at Kiku as you were plunged into the water with Feli.
“Hey Kiku!” You smirked resurfacing, “Don’t forget to put on more sunblock.”
