ChinaXReader: You're Beautiful

“Yao,” You poked at your chinese friend.
“What, aru?” He asked pulling away and glaring at you.
“Can you say something in Chinese?” You asked innocently.
“Why?” Yao Wang huffed folding his arms in his robe. You both were sitting in a park on a blanket in the middle of the day enjoying a small picnic.
“Because it sounds cool,” You persisted.
Yao looked at you for a second and said something rapidly. It just sounded like a mix of different syllables.
“Ni hen piao liang,” he said and looked away.
You tipped your head to one side, “What does that mean?’
His eyes widened, “It means ‘your hair is falling in your face’.”
It was. He leaned over and brushed it from your face with his hand, leaving his fingers to linger on your cheek. Your eyes met and he pulled away quickly.
Pink dusted your cheeks as you finished tucking your hair behind your ear.
“Oh,” It did sound cool, but you just liked hearing the way Yao said words in chinese.
“How do you say I love you?” You asked.
“Wh-what?” Yao turned to you and blushed.
“How do you say, I love you, in Chinese?” You repeated smiling at his blush.
“Oh, uh- W-wǒ ài nǐ,” he stuttered.
“Wǒ ài nǐ,” you said the words slowly and carefully.  
You turned toward him with determination in your eyes, “Wǒ ài nǐ... Yao.”
His cheeks turned bright red all the way up to his ears, “Wǒ ài nǐ  ______,” He repeated, “Ni hen piao liang,.”
You reached up to your hair which was still neatly tucked behind your ear, “My hair isn’t falling in my face!” You said confused.
Yao chuckled, “I lied,” he admitted looking at you, “It doesn’t really mean your hair is falling in your face, aru.”
You huffed, “What does it mean then?”
He shuffled where he sat, “It means ‘you are very beautiful’.”
You smiled, “Why didn’t you just say that in the beginning, it would have made things easier,” you laughed laying your head on his shoulder.
“I still meant it, aru,” Yao laughed.
You smiled and looked up at him. His brown eyes sparkled as he placed a kiss on your forehead.
“Wǒ ài nǐ,” He repeated.
